Piwakawaka’s Week Activities

Alexia Lovell —

The Piwakawakas have been creating some amazing work, continue reading to see what each class did!

Room 8 has been working on some amazing art. They painted some wonderful eye-catching flowers and some cacti with a great background made with many different colors. They have also created some delightful tree art. They painted the trunk of the trees in brown paint and then used real leaves from outside for the leaves on their art! This all looked great, we can’t wait to see more!

Room 4 is a new class that only started in week 3.  They are very good at listening and sitting still and enjoy doing a lot of outside exercising games which involve running. They seem as though they have been enjoying their past 4 weeks of school!

Room 3 have been creating Siapos which are made out of Samoan tapa cloth.  They then drew lovely designs on their pieces of tapa cloth and joined them all together to make one big beautiful masterpiece!

Room 2 has been learning a sasa, which is a traditional Samoan dancing which involves a lot of clapping, tapping and singing. They sing confidently and loudly which are two key things in a sasa, plus they were all perfectly in sync which made it look professional.

Room 1 was doing some very interesting experiments.  First they measured a half cup of water then measured two tablespoons of milk, they added the water to a beaker/measuring jug then they added the milk powder then stirred it all together and were excited to see they had created milk! They later got to do another fun experiment with popcorn!

The Piwakawaka's have been enjoying school so far and we can’t wait to see what they do next week!
