Space Posters With The Kōtuku and Pukeko Teams

Andrea and Rebekah —

Buddy time has taken us down the road of graphic design as we create posters containing information about planets!

Using google drawings, students designed a poster with at least 10 facts about a planet (not including Earth) of our choice. Posters had to involve the distance between the planet and the sun, the length of a day, the length of a year, the amount of gravity on the planet etc. They also had to include pictures of the planet and various other pieces of information.

Some of the most popular planets included Neptune and Jupiter; with PNG stars being a common appearance, the posters were on their way to being eye catching and informative. Each poster had unique ideas, ranges of fonts, photos and backgrounds.

In our usual groups or pairs, the posters were a collaboration project. The Kōtuku students guiding the younger pupils, teaching them how to use google drawings which is a common occurrence among the two teams.

Although the majority of the students haven't yet completed their information posters, we look forward to our next collaboration where we will resume working together to finalise them!
