Manners+Respect = Manaakitanga

Simon Thomas —

We work really hard to teach our students manners and respect for each other...

We believe in Manaakitanga, it is one of our four school values.  This means we treat everyone with respect and we show kindness and caring.  We actively teach ways to show respect to others in our school programme via whanau hui and circle time.

One of the key ways to demonstrate kindness and caring in our school is using our manners.  Greeting others with a smile, asking others how their day was, these are vital life skills.

We value and thank all of our parents who model manners to their children by using them in our school grounds by greeting our teaching and admin teams wherever we meet, in the office, playground, classrooms or gate.

Manners and a smile can make someone's day and everyone enjoys the company of well mannered and respectful children.  Keep up the great work whanau!
