Our class pet, "Crystal" the caterpillar, hatched into a butterfly this week and inspired our art work.....

Since the beginning of the term we have been watching our caterpillar, Crystal, eat all the leaves of our swan plant and make its chrysalis.  

We were patiently waiting for it to hatch and it finally did during our maths time on Wednesday. Everyone was so excited to see it spread its wings. It just so happened that we have been learning how Eric Carle, the illustrator of The Hungry Caterpillar, creates his amazing collages. 

We were inspired by Crystal the butterfly and Eric Carle to make these butterfly collages.
