PCT (Physical Competency Test) Challenge

Kent McDonald —

Check out our future Constables

On Monday 27th May, 320 Year 7/8 students from all over Christchurch took part in the PCT (Physical Competency Test) Challenge.  The PCT Test is what new Police recruits do to prove they are fit enough to be Police Officers.  Two teams from Parkview entered, one team from Year 7 and one from Year 8.

  • Year 7 Team - Jackson, Hunter, Rongo and Jacinta
  • Year 8 - Team - JP, Lucas, Caylah and Kayla

Teams were required to participate in a series of challenges including the team sprint.  Well done to JP who was clocked sprinting at 28 km/h with Lucas registering 27 km/h.

The highlight of the day was watching each team complete the Police Competence Test (PCT) – the obstacle course used in the entry exams for new police recruits.  Both teams displayed excellent team work skills and were a credit to Parkview Pārua School.  Well done!
