Head lice is not nice!
There are very annoying cases of head lice going around Parkview Pārua. Girls, please tie up your hair if it is past your shoulders! Boys, if your hair goes past your ears tie it up too!
Here we will answer - Can you kill lice with a hair dryer? Lice are repelled by the smell. Dry hair at the roots using a hair dryer. The heat will kill lice and dry out nits before they can colonize. A low-heat setting is sufficient.
If you do get head lice go to Parklands Unichem Pharmacy and ask them for head lice treatment. Also there are head lice combs that help get the nits out. Apply this treatment on the hair and leave it in for half-an-hour. Once this half-an-hour is up, get your child to hop in the shower to thoroughly wash out the lice treatment. Then comb your hair with the comb. If you feel any itchy feelings on your head, get a parent, sibling or caregiver to check for head lice. Please stop the spread of head lice, and tie up your hair. Head lice are nasty insects that make you scratch your head. It is a horrible feeling. They leave bumps and sometimes when you scratch at it they leave scars! PLEASE DON’T SCRATCH IT! It can leave you with an infection.
The head lice usually hide in the hair that's around your ears and at the top of your head. Each louse is about the size of a sesame seed and can be hard to spot. Lice eggs, called nits, are glued onto hairs near the scalp and can be even harder to see. They make you itch by sucking blood out of your head. The head lice is an obligate ectoparasite of humans that causes head lice infestation. Head lice are wingless insects spending their entire lives on the human scalp and feeding exclusively on human blood. They are very fast breeders and lay a lot of eggs very quickly!
