Don't be a quitter, pick up your litter!
Parkview students teach Shirley Boys group a thing or two about keeping our seas and rivers clean.
As part of our ongoing work around protecting our awa, moana and local area, a group of Kererū students bravely headed to Shirley Boys High School to share a presentation that they have been working on for weeks.
Keira, Chloe, Sophie, Angelica, Mason, Jake and Boston shared information about how rubbish can end up in our rivers and seas to the Shirley Boys Enviro group. The Enviro group were amazed to learn that there is a difference between waste water and storm water and that our storm water pipes travel all the way down to Waimairi beach. They also then mentioned that Shirley boys have a massive littering problem and that they would like our kids to share their presentation at some Shirley Boys assemblies next year!!
I was so proud of how well these kids represented our school and how brave they were to stand up and share something that they are passionate about.
A huge thank you as well Jenny Bond without who we wouldn't have been able to do this.
