Today we took a group of tamariki to the Read Aloud event as part of the WORD festival.

We went in to The Piano where we got to listen to 3 amazing authors talk to us. Miriam Lancewood talked about her adventures from living in the wild, Jonathan King spoke about creating comics, and Selina Tusitala Marsh spoke about her very cool book Mophead. Some of the children brought their own copies of the books along to be signed by the authors. Here are some high lights from the trip:

"I liked the author that lived out in the wild. She knew a lot about the wilderness" Joseph

"I liked the authors and how they read some of their books" Scarlet

"I liked that they shared the books with us" Angelica

"I liked how they could sign our books at the end" Sebastian

"I liked how Mophead was about her life" Keira
