EOTC in Kererū and Kōtuku

Kerri McManus —

This term has started off very busy for our two Senior teams with lots of learning taking place 'outside' of the classroom.

So far this term, both teams have learned about Civil Defence, especially during storms, via the CCC's 'Stan's Got a Plan'. They have also had the athletics qualifiers for zones which have had to be different from previous years due to the reduced field space.

Last week, the Kereru team enjoyed learning about swimming technique and safety while the Kotuku team headed away to Wainui for 3 days on camp.

This week, the Year 6's learned about keeping safe while cycling. The Kotuku team continued their weekly trips to the Linwood Technology Centre to learn a variety of hands-on skills using electronics, fabric and hard materials.

Coming up both teams also have:

- the ASB GetWise Money programme

- a science lesson at school with teachers from Rutherford's Den

- end of year trips

So lots more exciting learning to come in the next part of the term!
