EPro8 Challenge
Engaging in Engineering Excellence.
Over the past week Kōtuku has taken part in an engineering challenge called EPro8. Many teams and students took part in an 'Earthquake Frame' challenge and battled it out to make it into the school finals.
Those who excelled made it into the school finals. These teams were then tasked with the challenge of creating a 'throne' with functioning hinged backrest and counter weight, a linkage between the backrest and functioning footrest so they worked in unison and a ratchet for the footrest.
Of these teams, only four students could be chosen to represent Parkview Pārua at an interschool competition later in the term. It was a tough decision, and was decided based off of team work, analytical thinking, problem solving and efficiency - all must have skills in the Epro8 world.
