A week in the Kōtuku team!
The weeks in the Kōtuku team always vary, here's what this week entailed.
Monday: Technology and Inquiry Maths. In Food tech they were making Spaghetti Bolognese, in Hard Materials they're making Cell phone holders and in Art they have been making anime themed prints.
Tuesday: CV Writing and a careers Literacy theme, PE and Ahurea Oa. In Literacy the students got to interview the teachers to get ideas for their own CV's and studies around careers and the students are learning Māori Waiatas for the videos they're creating.
Wednesday: EPRO8 practice, Kapa Haka and Matariki themed activities. The final team for EPRO8 were practicing and tested students with their limbo machine, our new Kapa Haka tutors took a session and the students in Room 24 created their own book cover designs.
Thursday: Student led Maths workshops, Hagley Sport and Cowles Basketball! Room 24 students have been running and teaching their own math workshops and Hagley Sport is running smoothly with our incredible team captains and student refs!
Friday: Mentoring, Leadership, Sports practices and Art. The Kōtuku students run a mentoring programme with the junior school, the team captains allow Hagley practices to run successfully and Art is a great, relaxed way to end the week.
