Chairman Board of Trustees

Simon Thomas —

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

It is a really exciting time to be involved with Parkview School.

In my 18 years on the Board of Trustees I am very proud of the work we have achieved.

To date this year the Board has funded 170 chromebooks to ensure that all students in Year 5-8 have their own device. The rebuild programme has been approved and we are moving into detailed design of a 9 classroom block and media centre. The review of our name  is designed to re-invigorate our school and connect to our local community.  We have updated our school hall with heating, lighting and acoustic tiles to make it an effective teaching space to be used whilst the building project is in progress. In our last Board meeting the Board approved to match the funds raised by the Home and School Committee and progress the building of a new playground later this year. This will be a significant asset for years to come.

These are just a few of the exciting improvements our school is undertaking. As a result our roll is the highest it has ever been and we are constantly turning people away if they are not in our zone. We have an awesome, committed and professional teaching team who really do care about your child. Each team, complete with our wonderful learning assistants, is providing quality teaching and learning opportunities for our tamariki and we as a Board are very proud of them.

We look forward to the implementation of the many projects currently on the go and thank you for your support in making our school the most amazing place to be.
