Kererū's STEM challenge
Every Friday, Kererū students are challenged with a STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) activity.
Last Friday, Kererū students were challenged with a STEM based activity involving straws, blue tac, jellybeans and creativity.
They were tasked with working in small groups to build the tallest tower using only straws and blue tac. Another group had to use straws and jellybeans to create a tower and then the most interesting shape they could make.
There was incredible team work and communication and some very interesting looking towers at the end of it! All of the students really enjoyed the task and are looking forward to what they might be challenged with this week. And just in case you were wondering.... they were of course paper straws...
