Welcome back to school, we have a busy term ahead of us and winter is on it's way...

This term one of the major events are report writing and learning conferences.  With the setting aside of National Standards we have had to make changes to our reports.  Our assessment processes have not changed as we have always assessed against the New Zealand Curriculum and without National Standards we now report against the curriculum levels. 

We are primarly concerned with progress and that every child makes progress, regardless of where they are at. Our focus on achievement has not changed. We focus on the whole child and our values are vital to student progress and achievement.   At our learning conferences we encourage all parents to come along with their child to discuss their progress across the entire curriculum.  

Other big events this term are our Mathathon Fundraiser, School Cross Country, Basketball and Senior School interschool sports.  We have wonderful parent coaches who are helping our teams and we are really looking forward to seeing great results from our teams this year.

Our talented student design team are currently working on our cultural narrative and potential re-branding options to support our building upgrade project.  The students are really excited about this opportunity so look out for their work later this term. 

Please remember we have a Teacher Only Day on the Tuesday June 5th after Queens Birthday weekend to visit a Marae as a whole staff.  Thank you for your support in this as we know Teacher Only Days present challenges for our whanau.
