Matariki!
For the last two weeks, the Pukeko Team has been learning about Matariki.
This is what some of the children from Room 5 said about Matariki.
Angelica - "I like it when Matariki disappears. It is the signal for people to harvest their crops and get ready for the winter. I like all of the stars"
Zenith - "There is one star that represents the ocean and one that represents rivers."
Sophie - "The stars bring harmony."
Katja - "All the Matariki stars are a big family. There is a star that represents people that have passed over."
Amanda - "There is a healing star."
Room 8 and 9 made some amazing stars representing what each Matariki star stood for. For example, Ururangi and Waipuna-a-rangi are both related to weather.
Room 5 made some glitter stars to represent Matariki.
