Kererū Team - Diary Entry Writing

Janine Chapman —

This week we have been focusing on writing diary entries - this is getting us ready to share our thoughts and feelings while we are at camp.

We watched a video about Pip - she is a guide dog in training.  We had to write a diary entry about her graduation day.

Our goal was to use exciting emotion words.  Here is some of our writing!

Woof Woof Diary

You won't believe what happened today at my crazy exam, it was extraordinary.
I felt  like a shaking icicle about to fall and smash when I entered the room.  It was quiet but I ignored it but it got worse.

I was in line as dogs got their food.  I couldn't believe it, I couldn't even make myself FOOD.  Then I imagined how much trouble I had gotten myself into.

Finally I looked up at Ace, my dreams of success, but when I thought I was good I didn't succeed and got kicked out cause my owner tripped.  I feel so stupid because now my icicle has finally smashed.
Then I hear a THRASH, what could that be I wondered.  I was scared then I see a train heading straight into a blind woman.  I didn't know what to do then I remembered my training and ran.  A guard dog chased me to the gate but I fitted in but he was too big to fit in the gate.  I saved a life hooray.
I got not only the exam back but I got the blue cape, now I can be just like Ace.  I can't wait to see what my new owner is I hope she's blind so I can help but hopefully not all the time.

Woof Woof Diary

You will never Guess what happened at my Graduation today!
I thought that I wasn't going to succeed in my Graduation today, i was so worried about it. I was looking at my trainer so much that we ended up tripping over the step!
Next i got kicked out of my exam! I was looking through the window, while I was crying tears were going down my face slowly. I was really unsure of what i did, I was a little Depressed. I wish the day went better!
I felt really upset and depressed. I saw all the dogs in a line that passed the test. I raced around the corner, I saw a lady in the dug up road I squeezed through the gate ….
Finally I got through the gate and I happily saved the lady from falling over.
I put my head around the bag to help her walk. My trainer and the other pups were at the gate watching me after I saved the lady, they gave me a blue thing to put around my neck to say that I passed!
That was the craziest day I have ever had!

Have a marvelous day,

Pip
