Acrostic Poems!

Ella Hurst-Whitworth —

This week we have been learning about Acrostic Poems in writing and reading.

An Acrostic poem is a poem where you put your name or a name, a school, or your favorite thing etc going down and then you do a sentence starting with the top letter (that is a fact or something interesting about you or a animal). Then you keep on going down writing a sentence next to each letter until your done doing all of the letters.

Here are some of mine going off the topic we had to do:

Acrostic Poems!

My Name:

Excited about horses and learning

Love my horses named Vinny and Rascal

Love sport, nature, swimming, water, fruit and horses

Apples are my least favorite fruit, and Vinny’s favorite treat

Parkview Parua:

Parkview Parua,

Always puts kids first

Really kind, caring and patient to all,

Kids in need

Very cool, and hangs out/plays with the kids in the playground

Intelligent and interesting in each subject

Each staff member/teacher always have time for each kid, and remembers each kids name

Whether the kids are naughty or good, the teachers are patient and always encourage kids

Puts kids first

Always makes kids laugh and,

Really comforts each kid when they are upset

Unique and smart

Are cool, chilled and calm

My choice:

Vinny is the best horse in the world

I love him so much

Never gives up, always tries his best even when he’s struggling

Never is a normal horse, always has a very weird but funny personality

You can never have him because he is mine and one of a kind

I really hope you enjoyed my Acrostic Poems, and maybe you can make some of your own!  🙂
