Year 7&8's technology šŸŽ‚šŸ„§

Aysha Young —

Technology is something year 7&8ā€™s do every second Tuesday of the term. This Tuesday, (27-2-18) was the day for technology.

Technology is held at Linwood College, and contains classes for Parkviewā€™s seniors like, cooking, digital technology (animation) and wood work.At Linwood College we are supplied with the equipment we need for technology. For cooking this Tuesday, we made cheese omelettes with parsley, and salt and black pepper seasoning. At technology you can do digital technology, which uses a program called Sketchup, and with that you can make animations.

There is also something called Hard materials. Which in that, you get to make fun things with wood and other hard materials like metal.

Technology prepares year 7&8ā€™s for future references.A.k.a( Also known as.), working years. E.g, cooking allows kids to know how to cook for themselves when living alone.

At technology we have the privilege to work with hard materials, our amazing teacher is Mr Patterson, he teaches us about safety and how to create incredible structures with hard to function machinery. Right now during class we are creating a light box. We sawed wood with some interesting tools, a lot of us has never used or seen any of the tools, so it was great fun for all of us. On more of the electrical side, we have been creating something that will make the light box glow. Using metal, we melted the material onto the wires to join them together. Next week at technology we will be finishing off the light box.
