This term we have been learning about what it takes to write a good narrative.

After reading some good stories we looked at what makes a story, or a narrative. We learned that a narrative needs an Introduction - a Build-Up - a Complication or Problem - a Resolution to the Problem - and a Conclusion or Ending. 

To tie in with the Space work we are doing in science, that was the theme for the narratives we wrote. There were some very entertaining Space narratives written by our Pūkeko authors! 

We also learned about the "Writing Process" that we will be following in all writing genres throughout the year.

As part of writing using descriptive language, we wrote captions for some pictures taken from a story called Beegu, an alien who got lost on our planet.

Hugo > Beegu crashed onto planet Earth and she was lost in the middle of nowhere.

Samir > Beegu is super-duper lost on planet Earth and is scared.

Masani > Beegu's alien space-ship got out of control.

Clara > The UFO crashed on Earth at sunrise. Beegu was alone.

Mila > The spaceship has crashed and Beegu felt sad and she didn't know where to go.

Arabella > The spaceship has crashed into the sand, oh no!

Peyton > Beegu's mother-ship crashed into the Earth.

Adam > The broken UFO is silhouetted against the mountains.

Arlo > Beegu has crashed his UFO at the bottom of the hill.

Macey > Beegu thought she had found the perfect friends.

Indie > Beegu was playing with her friends she made at school but the teacher didn't like her and took her away.

Arabella > Beegu was playing with the kids, but then the teacher came and took her away - Beegu was sad.

Tommy > Beegu is playing with the kids but the teacher came with a grumpy face and was so mean and threw her away.

Odin > Beegu is having a lot of fun on the playground with the hula-hoop.

Adam > The cruel teacher strides into the laughter filled playground.

Payton > Beegu was playing with the children at school.
