Persuasive Writing!

Ella Hurst-Whitworth —

Bike riding! This is a Persuasive writing piece that Heidi put together for Summer. Heidi very kindly let me put this piece of writing in the newsletter, so thank you Heidi! I really hope you enjoy her writing!

Dear Summer,

I am writing to you today to ask, try and persuade you to ride bikes to school!

 Here are some reasons:

- Health and fitness

- The environment

- Traffic

- Quick and easy

Firstly, riding a bike helps you get healthy and fit.  Riding a bike helps make your muscles stronger, it also helps pump oxygen through your body!  It's a good way of relaxing and helps you keep mindful.

Secondly, the environment.  Cars have gas and diesel.  They are adding to greenhouse gases.  If everyone rode bikes, there wouldn't be climate change at such a drastic level!  Riding bikes doesn't add to declining the environment.

Thirdly, the traffic on roads.  When in a car or on a bus, you have to wait.  Riding a bike is less dangerous, as on the roads cars crash more then what bike riders do.  You don't have to wait for traffic lights unless riding on the gutter-line.

Fourthly, its quick and easy.  You just get your helmet and take off!  It's much faster than walking, so if on a bike you can get to things faster.  It's better than riding a scooter, because you don't have to push it along and riding a bike, it doesn't hurt your legs having to stand up the whole way.

In conclusion this is why I think that you should bike to school. Thank you for reading this letter, and I hope you consider riding a bike.

Sincerely yours,

Heidi Wilson
