Lots of cool holiday activities in here
Tena koe
We invite you to join us for a community event that’s all about making a positive impact on the Pauatahanui Inlet! The Rotary Club of Plimmerton, together with Ngāti Toa, Porirua City Council, and Greater Wellington Regional Council, is starting its five-year planting programme along the edges of the Inlet – and your help would make a difference.
Why we need you
The Pauatahanui Inlet is a beautiful and unique area, offering environmental, recreational, and scenic views. Planting native species along its edges will:
· reduce erosion and sedimentation
· create better habitats for native plants and animals
· restore native plants to the foreshore and adjoining areas.
When and where?
· Date: Sunday, 6 July 2025
· Time: 10:00 AM for the welcome and briefing
· Location: Eastern end of Motukaraka Point
What should you bring?
· Comfortable shoes or boots that can get wet and handle some mud
· A warm jacket and raincoat
· A water bottle to stay hydrated, and hat and sunblock
· Enthusiasm for the task!
We will provide tools, drinks, and snacks. We will kick off the planting with a welcome and briefing and finish with a sausage sizzle.
It would be great to see you – and it would be great if you can let us know you are coming by replying to brettjones55@gmail.com.
