Ngā mihi o te Kirihimete me te Tau Hou!

Sonya Faisst —

Seasons greetings for Christmas and the New Year to you all from our Kura reo and Kapa haka whānau!

It has been a great year for all the tamariki who have taken part in Kura reo and Kapa Haka.

Our numbers in Kapa Haka have continued to grow and we look forward to learning the new waiata and haka next year that Matua Maaka has written for us.  We represented our kura with pride this year at the very successful Ōhoka Cultural Festival. During Matariki both our rōpū performed for our kaumātua morning tea and welcomed tamariki from a local ECE.

The tamariki who opt into kura reo have shown a huge commitment to this kaupapa.  We have looked at communicating and using our reo through our fantastic new resources Papa Whakakōrero and rākau. Yesterday, both tuakana and teina rōpū joined together for a fun quiz.

We farewell all our tuakana and tamariki going to other kura and hope that you continue your Te ao Māori journey!

Ka mau te wehi tamariki mā!
