A fundamental part of seeing your child's continued success in reading is developing their reading comprehension. Reading comprehension is the ability to read text, process it, and interpret its meaning.

If you have the opportunity to read with or to your child, consider using comprehension questions to deepen their understanding and interpret what they have read or heard. Comprehension questions can be asked before, during, or after reading a book. I have attached some examples of comprehension questions.

If you want more information about comprehension or to get comprehension questions to support your child/children's reading age please talk to or email their homeroom teacher. Staff email addresses can be found on the school website.
