Our photo this week shows a STEM challenge in Friday DDL - robot battles. The children designed and built a robot around a Sphero and then we had a battle to pop each others balloons!

We want to acknowledge the students who went on the senior & year 8 ski trip yesterday. Mr Kelly and Mr P had a fantastic day with a group of positive, well behaved students. Thank you to all of the parents who supported on the day and thank you to Amanda for her wonderful organisation. A great day had by all. 

This week coming is Te wiki o Te Reo Māori. - The children will be involved in lots of fun activities this week starting with working on a dice game with their little buddies on Monday afternoon. 

Our writing workshops started this week. Each teacher is taking a writing focus area for 45minutes. The children will move through the workshops on a Monday - Wednesday and then they will be in homerooms on a Thursday to practise these skills. The skills are around sentence structures and extending sentences, punctuation, figurative language, and extension of language. We are seeing great success already with the children's answers and writing work. 

This coming week we will start athletics training on a Wednesday afternoon. This is in preparation of the school athletics in week 1 of next term.

Coffee and cake evening - This is open to  any year 7 parents with an early interest in meeting the new principal of Kaiapoi High. 

Each year, the Principal from Kaiapoi High School has a cake and coffee evening here at Pegasus Bay to introduce themselves and to answer any questions you may have about High School. This will be Tuesday 13th September at 7-8pm. This year is even more important with the introduction of a new Principal, Jason Reid. 

Little buddies lego fundraiser! - LEGO Day is next Friday! For $5 your tamaiti can play with thousands of pieces of LEGO for the morning. Get your tickets from the office by Wednesday. 

Science Academy this Friday - Please bring your bikes and helmets.
