Well here we go, two weeks to go! The above qoute has been chosen to recognise our amazing Peka peka whānau. We have had so many parents support us this year with our learning and we love when we get the opportunity for you to share your expertise in our space with our tamariki.
Our water collection tank has been finished! We can now collect water from our shed roof and our intention is to teach our tamariki how to be responsible consumers. Also, our new Butterfly garden has been planted. A big thanks to Ben Leech (Ava's Dad) from Refine Engineering for using his creative genius to make Ruby Cawley's design come to life, Shayne Anderson (Elliot's Dad) for making the tank stand, Woodend Nursery (Stu Hide) and Julia Warren (Olive's Mum) for donating some plants to our Butterfly garden. We look forward to watching these flourish and draw in some amazing bugs and butterflies for more amazing learning opportunities!
A big thank you to our whānau that have come in and shared their overseas Education experiences with the tamariki. The tamariki have developed the ability to courageously ask deep thought-provoking questions, and apply prior knowledge to make sense of their findings. Next week we reconnect with Barnaby and Woody and start designing our dream school.
Also we are so appreciative of our parent support during our literacy rotations. A big paki paki to Belinda Raja, Julia Warren and Michelle Nortje who have given up their precious time to support our tamariki who are learning to be independent.
Book Week: We have some awesome events lined up all week, including a session with visiting author James Russell, art displays of book series, and of course Book Character Dress Up Day (Tāiti - Thursday) this is a big event for our school. We can't wait to see all the creative dress up's brighten up Kura.
Reminder: Potae are compulsory in term 4, but with the sun starting to warm up our days already, tamariki are more than welcome to wear their awesome green school hats already (especially during lunchtime play and athletics practice).
Just a reminder about arriving at school at 8.30am, not any earlier. This time is precious for our kaiako to get prepared for learning.
Have a good weekend, rest and recover and get ready for a big Week 9.
Arohanui,
Penny, Sophia, Juanita, Heather, Triana, Alison, and Sally.
