NToM and Taerutu - Week Ono
Welcome to June, the month of jumping over ropes. Whilst the kaiako of our space have attempted to wind back the clock and enjoy the childhood passion of jump rope - unfortunately those glory days are long gone, as the painful reminders of shins and arms being whipped by the skipping rope were felt by us all.
Fortunately, we get to pass these skipping ropes onto our budding, athletic and younger members of our ALS, as they jump to strengthen their hearts, improve their fitness and fund raise for an amazing cause. Our syndicate alone has already raised over $2400, which simply put - is stunning! We are leading the way with tamariki signed up and funds raised for the Heart Foundation.
Speaking of fundraising - The Naked Baker is busy preparing 1,045 pies for our camp fund raiser. This is a pretty impressive effort and we thank you all for supporting our camp. Thursday the 16th from 2:30 is when you can collect these scrumptious pastries.
A massive shout out to our awesome Year 5 runners, that competed in zones on Wednesday. You represented us with pride and achieved some fantastic top 10 finishes.
Even though we have our second short schooling week in a row, the learning never slows down, as tamariki work hard on completing their UN and SDG brochures, measuring lengths, multiplying numbers, comprehending a range of text, apply new spelling patterns and prepare our Mahinga kai display.
Enjoy your long weekend and we will see you on Tuesday morning
