A couple of PD opportunities over the next 2 weeks

We still have 2 remaining learning events for teachers this term, don’t miss out on these wonderful opportunities to network and learn from others across the Kāhui Ako.

  1. Unpacking NZ Histories - Thu 31st August is a great opportunity to continue to unpack this area.

  2. Maths PLG #3 - Thu 7th September, it is really important that you try to get at least one Year 7&8 teacher from each school to this.

What: An online maths quiz hosted online via ZOOM. We are aiming to have 500 students online, competing in teams in a fun mathematics quiz.

Unpacking Aotearoa NZ Histories Workshop 2 (Week 7)

MATHS PLG #3 - TRANSITIONING FROM YEARS 7&8 TO HIGH SCHOOL (WEEK 8)

When: Thursday 7th September | 3.30 - 4.30

Where: Kaiapoi High School - Hosted by Lee Cate

What: The purpose of this PLG is to broaden our network between Primary and Secondary kaiako, with the intention of setting up observations in both primary and secondary kura in Term 4. This session will delve into the new Numeracy co-requisite that all students need to gain in order to achieve the NCEA levels. It will be helpful to see what the basis of these changes is and the importance of reasoning. We ask that year 7 & 8 teachers bring an overview summary of their yearly maths teaching programme with them so we can discuss the transition from primary to secondary. Te Rungapū Kōrero o Te Kāhui Kātote - SPEECH Competition

When: Wednesday 20th September | 6pm

Where: Kaiapoi High School - Auditorium

Speeches can be presented in either English or Te Reo Māori. The speech must either inform, persuade, or entertain. All speeches will be judged by the below criteria. Cue cards may be used but props are not permitted.
