Teaching teams for next year and homeroom teachers.
Kia ora e te whānau,
It's that time of the year again where we are able to release the teams for next year and your children can find out who their homeroom teacher is for next year.
It's always a fine balance between keeping consistent teams and making some changes where necessary. We always aim to minimise movement but it is also important that our staff are capable of teaching at various levels of the school. This not only strengthens their practice but allows for more flexibility when we look at the needs of students and how we can structure a team to support this. It is a thorough and well considered process.
What is equally important are how we place students in homerooms. Again this is a very time consuming process to ensure we place students to get the best outcomes for their learning. A number of factors are taken into account to ensure this achieved. While we understand that some children may not initially be happy with whom they are placed, it's important that they understand that it is with their best interests that they are placed with that teacher and that homeroom.
Please do not contact any teachers to request changes. If you have any concerns, they need to be directed to Di Murphy or Rachel Robinson only. It is important to note that 'just changing' someone isn't a simple process, as it does have a knock on effect and impacts other students.
We appreciate your understanding and support with this.
Please see below for next years teaching teams. To find out your child's homeroom teacher you will need to read your child's general comment on Hero.
Regards
Jared Kelly
