Peka peka - Term 3!

Sally Patterson —

A new kaiako, a student kaiako, and new tamariki all starting with us on day 1 of Term 3!

Nau mai! Welcome to Peka peka for Term 3! We hope you have had a restful but equally, adventurous holiday! What amazing weather we have had, so nice to have the warm northwest days during the first week-with some stunning sunrises!

We are looking forward to seeing the tamariki back at school on Monday-please email any fun photos from the memories that were made... or better still create an imovie or Picollage for your tamaiti to share with us.

We warmly welcome Mr Perriam (Mr P) as our 4th kaiako here in Peka peka. Mr P has been our super-sub when one of us is on release, so he is a familiar face to our tamariki and whānau alike. Mr P brings with him talents such as sport and digital learning, while also being a calm and positive energy in our space.

We also welcome Mr Fletcher who is our student kaiako from the University of Canterbury, he will be here for 5 weeks. This is his last teaching placement before he graduates at the end of the year. We look forward to nurturing his capabilities to provide an engaging curriculum for our 5 year olds, and perhaps a passion to teach them!

We have some eager 5 year olds also starting with us on day 1! A big Pegasus Bay welcome to Olive Warren, Darcy Shearer, Kelsee Bai, James Cook, Max Davies, and Phenix Pauro!

Week 1 will find us getting straight into our usual routines after a connect on Monday morning during homeroom.  Maths will run in the morning block after PE; Literacy in the middle block, and here's what to expect in the afternoons in Week 1:

Rāhina/Monday: Fine Motor Skills

Rātu/Tuesday: Inquiry

Rāapa/Wednesday: Library/Buddies

Rāpare/Thursday: Inquiry

Rāmere/Friday: Art

We can't wait to see you!

Arohanui,

Penny, Amanda, Dan, Angus, and Sally
