Pink Shirt Day Crusade

Jen Loffhagen —

On Pink Shirt Day, Pegasus Bay School and the rest of Aotearoa will be transformed into a sea of māwhero/pink as we stand together to spread Aroha, celebrate diversity and end bullying!

On Friday the 20th of May, the whole school will be participating in our Pegasus Bay Crusade. This is a fun day in support of Pink Shirt Day and fundraising for our Parent Support Group. Children will be in their year groups and crusade across varying distances depending on age group. Approximately 2km for Years 4-8 and approximately 1km for Years 0-3. This is about fun and not competitive, so everyone is encouraged to participate whether it's running, walking, skipping, or in a line with their buddies.

The Crusade starts with Years 0-2 with their senior buddies. The Crusade will finish with the Year 8 students. The Crusade will finish at the same spot, which is just Northwest of the bridge under our school gazebo. This is a great spot to see all the runners come in.

The children will remain with their syndicates, however, if parents wish to take their child/ren home they must check in with their homeroom teacher. If you have been asked by a parent to take their child home, this needs to be organised with the Homeroom teacher prior to the day.

Hopefully Mr Whippy, coffee van and Mini Donuts will join us.

The postponement date will be later in the term.

More details soon.
