What a great week we've had!
Kia ora e te whānau
There's been a really positive buzz about the school this week as we've welcomed children back to school, met new whānau, and settled into class - it's awesome to be back into it!
This newsletter is packed with information - so please take a couple of moments to have a read-through so that you are fully informed.
At this time of year there is a lot going on with sports - including registration details for our school swimming sports, twilight football, mini-ball, Friday night basketball and hockey - make sure you don't miss rego deadlines!
From next week we are changing the way you can access school during the school day - please make sure you have read the article so you know how to get into school if your child is late, or needs to leave early.
Unfortunately, we've again had complaints from some of our neighbours about parents' parking - please have a read of the article so you can make sure you're parking legally and courteously.
There is also an article from each of our ALS teams to update you on what is happening and what is coming up in each space.
Next week we have a day off on Tuesday, for Waitangi Day. It's school as normal on Monday. However, if you are taking the opportunity to have a long weekend away, please use the phone app to let us know your child(ren) will be absent before 9am on Monday.
It's absolutely fine to take a day or two away from school for family time - just please, always let us know first via the phone app. It's not logistically possible for teachers to provide work for while you're away, or to catch your child up on what they've missed when they return. Taking a book to read, drawing, games and the benefits of family time and new experiences are valuable learning experiences too.
As always, if you have any questions, comments, queries, concerns or congratulations to share - please do get in touch!
Enjoy the weekend!
