Our school uniform is compulsory
Kia ora e te whānau
Just a quick reminder that our school uniform is compulsory. Wearing the uniform encourages a sense of belonging and identity - our pupils are proud to be recognised as Pegasus Bay School children.
It is the responsibility of ALL parents at Pegasus Bay to ensure children are wearing the correct school uniform everyday. Please note that only the items listed on our uniform list are permitted.
We don't prescribe the shoes your children should wear - though crocs, jandals and slides etc. are not acceptable - we trust that you will ensure they have adequate footwear to be able to take part in sporting activities. When choosing footwear, you should also consider that we operate shoe-less ALS's, and your child will be taking their shoes on and off numerous times during the day.
In the winter, children can wear navy blue thermal tops and tights - patterns, stripes, logo's and non-navy items are not permitted.
School hats are not compulsory for terms 2 and 3, though they are recommended for sunny days. Hats are for sale at the office (and via Kindo) for $22.
Sports jackets and tops that some children have received for representing either our kura or their local club at sporting events outside of school are not part of our uniform and should be not worn to school.
PALS jackets are the only exception - and are only to be worn when on PALS duty as an addition to the uniform.
In addition to being able to purchase our uniform from The Warehouse Rangiora (and via them online), we also have a second-hand uniform shop in the office. All items in our second-hand shop are either $5 or $10.
