NToM and Taerutu
Congratulations Team Karaka 'All Star Oranges' for taking out last weeks colour challenge. Teams competed in a series of group challenges involving relays and hoops. With only 3 points separating the top 4 teams, the competition is truly alive.
Good news! Our comic books have been completed and are available to be read on Seesaw.
Wiki Tuarima: Ākonga have a busy week to look forward to as we enter into our new writing genre of Reports, with the intention of producing a detailed written report about Te Tiriti o Waitangi by the end of term. Speaking of the Treaty, ākonga have started producing mini re-enactment movies of Feb 6th 1840 as we dive into how the treaty was signed, before developing our understanding of what both parties understood the treaty to mean.
In Maths, renaming will be the word of the week, as both year groups enjoy the challenge of new addition methods. We are also beginning our formalised testing on Mane (Monday), with writing, reading and maths tests being undertaken across the next two wiki.
Tūrei (Tuesday): Mrs Hornblow had a great time in class this week, so she is back for another round of music producing.
Paraire (Friday): Just a reminder that the teaching team are attending our Union Meeting after lunch, so the afternoon will look a little different for those ākonga remaining at kura.
Have a great weekend,
Ngā mihi nui
