Greetings from Room 5
As we begin 2022 we would like to share our first week back at Pitau-Allenvale.
First, we would like to welcome back all of the students and families of room 5, in particular Chelsey Hardyment, Fraser Grant, and Mikayla Banks and their families.
We also have some new staff to the class this year: Lisa Tuinenga and Chris Nimmo join Rebecca Turner and Patsy van de Stolpe as our Teaching Assistants, and John Pollock coming across from room 8 to team-teach with Sue.
This term our topic focus is water. We will be exploring the many uses of water in our everyday lives and in the wider community. Each week we will participate in a range of activities to make connections we have with water.
One of the highlights of the week was the car washing. It was a very warm and humid day so if was great to get outside and get wet. This was a really fun activity enjoyed by all, and gave both staff and students some time to get to know each other and build some relationships.
Another highlight was participating in everyday activities that use water. We did some teeth brushing, making some mud before washing our hands, poaching an egg, and we watered some seeds too.
Kind regards, the team in Room 5
