Supporting Students in our Mainstream Schools

It has been another busy term in Outreach. We have welcomed new students, schools and staff to our team.

One focus for the term has been working with students on assistive technology applications to support their language and writing.

Our school wide focus on using Numicon to develop mathematical thinking has been taken into our schools too. It has been fantastic to see some of our students demonstrate their thinking and understanding of space, shape and number using this equipment.

Communication is an additional focus for our ongoing work. Many of our students are developing conversation skills and language for learning through the use of visual supports. The ability to chat to others is a life skill.
