This term we have been learning about a different bug/minibeast each week. We are learning to recognise that there are a lot of different living things in the world around us. We have found success in integrating the minibeast theme through cross-curricular learning opportunities to capture engagement. Sensory play, art and cooking proved to be a captivating way for our students to engage with our topic. 

During term 2, we have also noticed a consistent increase in the connections made between our visual timetable, our slideshow visuals, the visuals we carry with us and around the classroom. Our students are recognising 'real life' reasons and opportunities to use these communication visuals and they are becoming intrinsically motivated to use them to gain reward (communication of a need or want).
