Measuring Success
As our student reports are being completed we are reminded of what matters when it comes to reporting on progress and success.
In a school environment we are required to report on student progress and achievement . What this should look like is a really great question.
We are reflecting on what success looks like for our students. We are reminded that not everything that matters can be measured and that not everything that might be measured matters!
I am delighted that see saw is used as a tool to communicate what your children are doing in class as this gives a quick look at what they are doing and why, and all as it happens (real time reporting). As we move in to next year we will be looking further at how see saw is being used.
We want our students to be happy, healthy and independent as possible, to be effective communicators able to express needs and wants, opinions, and able to make decisions. Students need to have personal positive relationships, to be active and that they feel they can enjoy purpose in life both at Allenvale School and beyond. Students benefit from being resilient with a strong sense of self.
We feel very proud of the growth we see in our students and the challenge for us is how we effectively report progress in these important areas and how we celebrate our student's success in achieving their goals.
