ShakeOut takes place across the world to remind people of the right action to take during an earthquake. Drop, Cover and Hold.

This year we took part in the National Shakeout day by having a practice earthquake drill and evacuation. The students did a great job protecting themselves using Drop, Cover and Hold.

It is a timely reminder to reconnect with your whanau emergency plans and check that they are up to date and everyone is clear on what to do during and after and earthquake. If you learner is in Room 4, Putahi at Wairakei or Team Kea at Kendal they will be well informed on what you need to do. Last week this group of students took part in the Learning through Action 'Stan's Got a Plan' programme focusing on being prepared for an earthquake.
