Bee-Bots are the perfect tool for introducing Team Kea students to the principles of coding.

Team Kea has been using Bee-Bots during our Digitech lessons. Bee-Bots are exciting programmable robots that tamariki can program to move around a grid. In our sessions this term, we have used the Bee-Bots as a tool to enhance our mathematics, direction skills. 

Although using Bee-bots looks simple, there is a lot of learning taking place. Students design, write and debug their code in order to reach a goal.  Sometimes code is written independently, while other times we work together to find a better route. 

We have had lots of fun and especially enjoyed the group challenges where we have to find the shortest path to get to the treasure.
