At Tētēkura we have been learning about the myth of 'How Maui slowed the Sun' as told by different cultures and people.

First we watched two different retellings of the story and then we organised pictures of the story into the right order.

Afterwards, we came together for a class Kahoot! It was great to test our knowledge and see what we had learned.

Finally, we watched a different retelling of the myth called 'Why Maui slowed the Sun'. This version is from Hawaiian mythology. We noticed lots of similarities and differences between the two versions. By comparing the two myths we could recognise that this story is shared across cultures and as time has past it has changed.
