School Reports via Seesaw
At Allenvale we report via Seesaw, providing feedback on achievements. This online reporting replaces the end of year reports.
There are many reasons why we introduced Seesaw Reporting at Allenvale:
It gives all students a voice.
It provides students with ownership.
It makes learning visible.
It provides whānau with real time reporting.
The reports are simple, yet powerful.
Reports are organised, documented and show development.
It builds strong communication between whānau, student and kura.
It is a digital document which allows students to access their own work.
It provides an opportunity to reflect and add comments.
During the year teachers will report on two main priority goals for each learning domain. They will also report on ILP/ITP progress and goals. All of these will be reported on at least twice a year.
Whānau can look for the blue reporting folder on a post.
This identifies a reporting post compared to a celebration post in the Seesaw class. The teacher report statement will tell you about what your child has been learning, how they are progressing and what their next steps are. We encourage you to comment on your child’s posts and share in celebrating their achievements. All report comments will only be tagged to your student, which means that other classmates and parents cannot see these reporting posts.
We look forward to moving forward and creating a digital, accessible, interactive and time sensitive report that can be shared and celebrated.
