Room 10 visits Woolshed Park Playground
We are always on the look out for safe play areas for our students to explore on our outings.
We got a tip about Woolshed Park in Rolleston. Rather a long way, but well worth the trip, as everyone had a great time and did lots of playing and exploring. Fully fenced playgrounds are quite rare around Christchurch, and we really value them! Woolshed Park Playground is a very cute, small playground that has an easily accessed ramp up to a enclosed platform, with a tunnel slide and pole to slide down. The Room 10 students also loved the basket swing and smaller slide. There is a range of interesting equipment that we fitted on, but is also suitable for little people.
If you are thinking about a visit, the space is beautifully fenced with wooden rail fencing, which was fine for Room 10, but not so good for climbers who love to escape. Bring your own water to drink and be aware there isn't a handy toilet. The surface is entirely bark.
Rolleston also has Foster Park playground, which is much bigger (although not as safely enclosed), plus the great Selwyn Aquatic Centre. Could be a good place for a day out over the holidays.
