As term 4 comes to an end we look back on the year that was 2020.

This year has been filled with many challenges. The unexpected lockdown was especially hard on students, families, and staff with a new set of expectations to meet.

But this year has also been a year of improvement and success. The class has made it to Ciroc dancing, Special Olympics Athletics and Basketball, wearable arts, big fun gym, multiple trips into the community (walking around the city, supermarket, malls, bowling, Mitre 10, the Warehouse, Jaycar, Victoria park and Godley heads). A new thing we did this term was going to the Papanui library as a class to find and read books of interest. The whole class has shown great interest in this activity, and it has been a great way to start introducing and extending our communication as a class. Overall, they guys in Room 8 have had a great year despite the challenges faced.

We would like to make a special mention of Cameron Fabiano and Jaycob Kaa. Both young men have finished their time at Allenvale school, and we would like to wish them well in their future endeavors.
