This term our students have been awarded with KORU certificates to acknowledge the many ways in which they demonstrate our Pītau-Allenvale school values of Kindness, Ora, Resilience and Uniqueness.

Acknowledging positive behaviour that demonstrates school values is one of the key parts of being a PB4L (Positive Behaviour for Learning) school. The interaction between members of the school community that occurs when positive behaviour is noticed and acknowledged builds self esteem and  relationships and increases the likelihood of that positive behaviour occurring again. 

Acknowledgement can come in many forms, it might be a smile and a thumbs up, a verbal acknowledgement of appreciation or something more formal like a certificate. Check out the proud faces in these pictures of a few of our students over the term receiving certificates to take home and share with whānau and friends.
