RDA is back!

Katie Hammond —

We have been fortunate enough to be able to start up riding for the disabled again at Pītau-Allenvale. So far this term we have had 5 of our students attending and they have all made some great progress.

We would like to send a big thank you out to the Lamar charitable trust for allowing us to have this opportunity.

Riding for the Disabled is an organisation that provides horse riding sessions for people with disabilities. This organisation has some awesome volunteers and coaches that have helped our students build up their confidence to be on and around the horses.

"The benefits gained from horse riding are improved balance, coordination and posture. Confidence and self-esteem also get a boost! Working with horses improves communication and social skills."

It has been awesome to see these students progress as the term has gone on and we look forward to continuing to watch this growth as well as welcome in some more students to have a go.
