Samoan Language Week in Team Kea
Samoan Language Week celebrates the third most spoken language in New Zealand. This year it ran from Sunday 29 May to Saturday 4 June.
In Team Kea, we started the week by learning about Samoa, some interesting facts about the islands, and discovering more about their culture. The students enjoyed a variety of craft and language activities. We made patterns, tapa cloth designs, and turtles. In class, we practiced saying the Samoan words for the colours and numbers from one to ten. It was a wonderful week and the students did a great job participating.
