Learning-by-doing during Term 2
Pūtahi Junior students have been busy experiencing many hands-on activities such as, cooking, art, outdoor play, and play-based learning activities in the class.
Actively participating in practical and imaginative ways when learning supports our students to develop our school values: Kindness; Ora; Resilience; Uniqueness.
Many of the goals we have for our students can be best developed when engaging in play and practical tasks. We would like our students to :-
- have physical, mental and emotional wellness.
- be effective communicators with their own opinions being heard and respected.
- develop competence in everyday living skills and self management.
- celebrate our own uniqueness, natural curiosity and potential.
- be connected
- be involved in leisure activities.
- develop personal, positive relationships.
- be happy, healthy and as independent as possible.
