Welcome back to 2025!
Kia ora whānau and kaitiaki!
Ko Georgina tōku ingoa.
I am so lucky to be here at Pītau Allenvale School. I have been teaching since 2020 in a variety of ages in Kaikōura and Ashburton.
I was born in Tāmaki Makaurau and I have four siblings. I have an older brother and sister, and two younger sisters. When I was eleven, my whānau moved to Ōtautahi where I went to intermediate and high school. Through high school I loved playing sports, photography, painting and mathematics.
During my high school years my sisters and I fell in love with horse riding which took over my life. To this day, my happy place is where my horses are.
I have two horses named Abba and Paris and I have had them for seven years. My mum also has a horse named Paisley who I have been taking care of and breaking her in and riding over the last year.
Along with horse riding, I love going biking and I have started doing some beginner mountain biking though the Ashburton biking trails. I hope to get out in Ōtautahi and see the areas that are being restored into native marsh lands.
My family is absolutely animal crazy and between us there are eight dogs, four horses and seven cats. I myself have a dog called Amber, who we call Bam, and a cat named Maximus.
I love going with my friends to get coffee, watching movies, getting creative and crafty, going bowling and going to karaoke!
As a teacher I love inspiring other in their learning and I also love learning myself. The fun part about being a teacher is the learning never stops!
Through my time as a teacher I became very inspired to learn more about special and inclusive education which lead me to completing my postgrad in Education endorsed in Inclusive and Special.
I have had such a wonderful first week getting to know the wonderful tamariki in Taumanu and I look forward to meeting the many people that are important in their lives.
