Mīharo tamariki!

Tēnā koutou whānau and kaitiaki!

What a wonderful eight weeks we have had at kura. As a class we have been re-establishing what our daily normal looks like with our new tamariki that joined midway this term.

Our wonderful tamariki have been showing kindness, flexibility and aroha to our new friends. There has been so much collaboration between the students and they are building great awareness of each other.

In the akomanga (classroom), our tamariki have been developing their identities as writers, readers and mathematicians.

Through our ako (learning), we as teachers get to discover so much about our ākonga (students) and their passions. We love creating literacy and numeracy rich activities and experiences for our children. The tamariki get to expand their understanding of literacy and maths through cooking, art, science, technology, music, sensory activities, outings and play based learning.

Our wonderful kaiāwhina (teacher aides) are amazing at supporting our children by being flexible and passionate. This helps inspire the tamariki to feel connected to their learning and love it!

Ko te ahurei o te tamaiti arahia ō tātou māhi.

Let the uniqueness of the child guide our work.

We are so proud of our Taumanu tamariki!
