Pitt Island Community

Robyn Bradley —

Pitt Island School is the only school located on the second largest Island in the Chatham Islands group.

Pitt Island is a remote and untouched paradise in the Chatham Islands, New Zealand. With a population of only around 50 people, it offers a tight-knit community and a laid-back lifestyle.

The island is known for its stunning landscapes, including rugged cliffs, golden sandy beaches, and crystal-clear waters. It's a haven for nature lovers with various outdoor activities like hiking, fishing, and birdwatching. The diverse wildlife, including rare bird species and playful seals, is a constant source of amazement.

The island's community is warm and welcoming. Special events and festivals bring people together, fostering a strong sense of belonging and offering a chance to immerse in the local culture.

Our school is deeply rooted in the Pitt Island community.
